Online service of EFKA for the reimbursement of funeral expenses

The administrative procedure concerning the reimbursement of the funeral expenses has been changed and can be handled on-line. After the payment of the invoice, the Funeral Home submits the funeral/cremation bill electronically to the online platform of EFKA. This has to be done 24 hours after the registration of death at the register office of the municipality in which the death has occurred or the burial has taken place.

Subsequently the invoice recipient has to submit an online application for the reimbursement of the funeral expenses.

After request, our Funeral Home will assist the beneficiary to submit the online application for the reimbursement of the funeral expenses without any additional charge! In that case we need:

  • The beneficiary’s TAXISNET USER NAME & PASSWORD
  •  The IBAN of the beneficiary’s bank account

In case you prefer to handle the procedure by yourself, please follow the instructions in the EFKA manual:

Electronic receipt:

  • The Funeral Home which has undertaken the ceremony, issues a receipt for the expenses with the AMKA no. of the deceased and the tax number or the ID card number of the beneficiary.
  • The electronic receipt will be submitted at the e-EFKA unit “Receipts for funeral expenses”

The applicant:

  • Submits the application for the reimbursement of the funeral expenses at e-EFKA following the below-mentioned steps:

Application for the reimbursement of the funeral expenses

Purpose is the submission of the beneficiary’s application concerning the reimbursement of the funeral expenses. In case of death of an insurant or pensioner of e-EFKA the funeral expenses will be paid to an account of the beneficiary, provided the Funeral Home which has undertaken the ceremony, has submitted prior the invoice electronically.

  1. The user must have a valid user name and password at TAXISNET
  2. The invoice concerning the funeral expenses must have been submitted electronically by the Funeral Home which has undertaken the ceremony.

The activation of the process starts as follows:

  1. The user chooses from the electronical services of e-EFKA or the web portal of the Greek Government gov.gr the option “Payment of funeral expenses”.
  2. He/she clicks “continue with TAXISNET” and will be connected with the TAXISNET codes.
  3. The user enters his/her credentials in order to get access.
  4. The user clicks “Authorization” to enable the system of EFKA to enter his/her data (tax number, name, surname), which are recorded in the AADE system.
  5. The data will be entered automatically and the user has to click “Enter”.
  6. The screen shows the field “Funeral expenses” where the user can check older documents, if available.
  1. For the submission of a new application the user clicks the button “New application” and on the screen appear the following fields:
  2. The system enters automatically the data of the applicant.
  3. The user completes the mandatory fields, which are marked with ): IBAN – Verification of the IBAN.
  4. The user has to confirm (mark the relevant field) that he/she has arranged the funeral/cremation and that he/she is not entitled to collect the money from another domestic or foreign carrier.
  5. After that the user accesses the tab “Data of the deceased” and completes the mandatory fields, which are marked with ): AMKA – Tax number*. The system will enter automatically the remaining data of the deceased.
  6. The user accesses the tab “Receipts” and the invoice that has been submitted electronically by the Funeral Home arises.
  7. The user has to choose the button “Authorization” in order to transfer the data of the application from the EFKA system to the AADE system.
  8. Finally, the user has to choose the “Save” button and after the storage the system issues the “Application number”.
  9. The user has the option to process the record by clicking to the “Process” button, or to finalize the record by clicking the button “Submission”.
  10. In case of submission the word “Confirmation” will arise.
  11. The user has to click the “Yes” button which gives him the choice to open and save the application as well as the decision, by clicking either the button “Print application” or “Print decision”.
  12. If the user chooses the option “Print application”, he/she must accept the message “Application for funeral expenses” by clicking “OK”, in order to open the printer device.
  13. If the user chooses the option “Print decision”, he/she must accept the message “Decision-one- time benefit” by clicking “OK”, in order to open the printer device.
  1. The user has to click the “Search” button.
  2. On the right side appears the “Search screen” where you can see the columns with the available records.
  3. The user can access the application of his choice by clicking the button “Choice”.

Amount

  • The amount is calculated based on the data given on the electronic application and the results of the crosscheck.
  • The decision of payment is issued electronically in real time.
  • The amount of payment is not affected by potential insurance debts.
  • The reimbursement is a one-time payment and defined by the responsible carrier.

*The reimbursement for funeral expenses for e-EFKA insurees or pensioners is possible due to the Minister Decision (21919/7423/Β’/2272/14.06.2020)
